
All my paintings come with a story. That is why I cannot let them go. You need me there, to explain their background.
In 1968 I was teaching in Bourke.
Good kids. Enjoyable times.
Actually this boy and his brother? friend? were not pupils, at my school.
They were standing near “The Old Gaol”, where I boarded, in the very hot verandah, part of the old building.
..... when I was 8, on the other side of the world, I said I’d be a teacher. For 37 years, I did it. 100%. Did my best. Enjoyed it.
Currently working on a series of paintings intended as homage to the illustrator of the book: Alleen Op De Wereld, written (as Sans Famille) by Hector Malot and illustrated by George van Raemdonck.
